Many jobs will require you to attend a face to face interview, and remember this will most likely be the first time you meet your future employers, so it is important that as well as satisfying them that you can do the job advertised, you also make a good overall impression.

Being punctual and organised is essential, and regardless of the position advertised you should wear some suitable clothing so that you appear smart and presentable.  Here are some more tips to help you at face-to-face interviews:

• Don’t chew gum or eat during the interview as this presents a careless attitude.
• Answer questions in a positive manner, and refrain from speaking too negatively about any past employers or jobs.
• Don’t forget to take a copy of your CV with you, and any other certificates or documents you think may support your suitability for the job.
• Greet the interview with a firm handshake – you may want to practise this beforehand if you are not used to shaking hands with anyone.
